ciudad bolívar, venezuela

Ciudad Bolívar feels very hot. You could easily get heatstroke from walking around for a few hours.

My main reason for coming here was to arrange a trip to Salto Angel, but I ended up spending a night here and wandering around the slow town to pass time.

Not much happening here! Except for the old cars ... a Venezuelan thing reminiscent of Havana.

So far the taxis I've seen here are just regular cars with a 'taxi' sign displayed on the front wind shield.

Parts of the posada I stayed at:

At the tiny airport you can find the airplane of Jimmy Angel. The waterfall Salto Angel is named after the US explorer who came across it when he was searching for gold.
